    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What's the difference between NYC INFERNO and PLAYHOUSE?
A: NYC INFERNO began in late 2016 as an MSM-focused play party, meaning that it centered the experiences of men who have sex with men. The attendees were historically mostly cis gay men looking to play with other cis gay men, and though the party always celebrated diversity and welcomed trans folks - including many trans men, trans women, non-binary and genderqueer/non-conforming guests who attended the parties - some in the trans masc community felt sidelined. The creators of NYC INFERNO listened to this feedback and teamed up with Kris Grey, a sex-positive trans artist and activist to create the first PLAYHOUSE party in early 2019. The first night was a smashing success, with a very even mix of trans and cis folks who made the party a very hot and exciting experience. PLAYHOUSE happened two more times after that first night, but when Kris Grey moved out of NYC for greener pastures, the creators of NYC INFERNO took time and sought out new collaborators to throw the party with. Two of PLAYHOUSE's most passionate attendees - The Pleasure Chest's Santos Atrevideo and Samy N filled that role. Now with the help of Pup Rexy, NYC INFERNO x PLAYHOUSE party has been rebranded as TRANSFERNO.

Q: Is this party only for cis gay guys who want to play with trans guys or trans guys who want to play with other trans guys?
A: There will be lots of friendly cis & trans men at the party, as well as people of other genders, & it's up to you who you interact with & how you want to play. This is an inclusive queer party that welcomes all genders and presentations, cis and trans folks who have experience with trans guys, and cis and trans folks who have no experience with trans guys. You can dive in head first, stand back and watch (respectfully) or take your time and explore at your own pace. As long as you treat each other with kindness, you should be fine.

Q: I'm a cis gay guy who's never played with a trans guy. I've always been curious about it, but I'm nervous. What should I know?
While there is no specific set of standards for interacting with trans folks in a sex party environment that we know of, it may be good to take a look at these three articles:
    https://www.advocate.com/.../16-things-i-learned-having...
    https://www.refinery29.com/.../transgender-sex-tips...
    https://everydayfeminism.com/.../8-tips-on-respectfully.../

The guiding principles are the same as at every NYC INFERNO party - not to shade anyone else for who they are or what they are into and that consent is a must. If you aren’t sure about what you’re open to, just be kind to each other, stay open to interactions that may be different for you or new, and be brave while mingling. Remember that there are lots of different ways to connect with someone on a sexual level and however you feel comfortable doing so is okay.

Here are some other simple things we recommend:
Be friendly! Read the energy! Establish (& check in with) consent!
Ask about what's ok to touch & what body parts should be called!
Ask &/or cue in to how your trans partner wants to play (we're not all bottoms).
Be prepared to have a great time!

Q: I've never "cruised" before. How do I do it?
A: TRANSFERNO is a space to notice people & to be noticed. Feel free to make friendly eye contact. If you've noticed someone you like giving you the eye, a smile or a nod will work wonders. Feel free to say hi & ask what they're looking for. Always get consent before touching & if things go further, make sure you're checked in to what feels good for both of you. Consent is the first step to really hot sex.

Q: Are cis women allowed too?
A: Everyone is welcome at TRANSFERNO. It's our goal to keep this party friendly & welcoming to anyone who wants to attend a party that centers trans masculine people & their pleasure.

Q: Will I definitely get play if I come?
A: No, we can't ever guarantee everyone will get to hook up or have a perfect party experience. But if you approach the party with the open energy described above, you are sure to have fun either way.

Q: What if I make a mistake and ruin the moment?
A: Mistakes happen regardless of who you are or your level of experience. Try to follow our advice above and you should be fine. If you do make a mistake, apologize once (not over and over again) and check in with your partner(s) about whether they want to keep going. With a little luck - and listening - you can probably find your way back into the scene.

Q: What if I'm at the party and I'm having a bad time, or just need someone to talk to for a while to calm my nerves?
A: Look for Santos, Kris, Pup Rexy or Adam, all of whom will be around the party during the evening and greeting folks as they enter the party. All of us will be more than happy to talk you through any challenges and help you find your center again.

Q: I'd like to come, but I'm low on funds, is there something I can do?
A: Yes! We have a small list with 15 spots for Trans People, Queer and Trans People of Color and Disabled Guests in legitimate need of reduced admission. Please reply to this email directly to put yourself on it. Admission will be $20 all night.

Q: I still have questions that you didn't answer here.
A: That's okay! Feel free to email us at nycinferno@gmail.com and we'll do our best to answer anything we left out!
